Our super soft old-fashioned periodontal toothbrushes help prevent bleeding for people with sensitive gums. These are the softest toothbrushes that we offer. The traditional flat head design gives you more control and the best cleaning capability with the least amount of gum damage than modern multi-level bristles, which can irritate gum tissue. Long ago, one could purchase the “extra soft” version of a plain toothbrush. But more recently, these had been virtually non-existent. These ultra soft, classic toothbrushes are also known as “periodontal toothbrushes” and “sulcus toothbrushes.” They’re helpful for gingivitis, gum disease, receding gums, bleeding gums and periodontitis. Our extra soft toothbrushes are also helpful to exfoliate lips and face.

Are you new to an Extra Soft Toothbrush? You have to Brush a Little Differently!
If you have sensitive or bleeding gums, you might have developed a more delicate brushing technique as to not cause too much bleeding. One thing to watch out for when you start using our extra soft toothbrushes is that you can and SHOULD start using a more “normal” pressure to your brushing technique. The reason this is important is that the bristles themselves, since they are softer and more gentle on your gums they will not remove tartar and plaque as easily. So please do look in the mirror after a few weeks of using your new extra soft brush and check if you have any build-up on your teeth and then you will know if you need to start using more pressure and possibly spend more time on each section of your mouth. This way, you can have the best of both worlds: super clean teeth but no damage to your gums!
